Christopher Abrams is an artist and developer with a constantly evolving multimedia practice.
His work focuses on constructing, programming, or engineering chance and unpredictability
into otherwise ordered structures and environments.Abrams graduated Harvard University’s
Visual Arts Program and earned an MFA in Sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art.
He currently teaches Sculpture and New Media at Brandeis University and Boston University.
He maintains a varied multimedia practice and has exhibited broadly.

Lasse Antonsen is a Danish artist living in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He studied art and art history
in Denmark as well as the US. He works with found objects which he recontextualizes, resulting in
the creation of new environments. His works is subtle, and require willingness on the part of the
viewer in terms of active contemplation.

Natasha Maria Brooks-Sperduti uses the motion of her body to make site-specific sculpture and
installation. Her work reflects the gesture of its making. These actions trace a boundary
between our tangible world and another, less visible reality. Natasha is a Providence resident
and RI native. She has shown in New York and London, and holds a Bachelors’ Degree in
Studio Art from Bard College.

Alyn Carlson‘s work goes back and forth between the abstract and the representational.
Primarily self-taught, Carlson has developed her artistic education through classes at local art
schools, books, galleries, museums and asking questions. Carlson has had numerous solo and
group shows throughout New England. She supports herself through graphic design and lives
in a church on three acres of meadow in rural Westport, Massachusetts with a dozen or so free
range chickens.

Paul Clancy is a self taught artist and photographer with a successful commercial career for
over 20 years. A past artist-in-residence in Hungary and now at AS220 in Providence, Clancy
often finds inspiration in the decay and restoration of architecture. His work has been published
in Photo District News, Graphis, Archive, and Artscope. He is represented by the Gallery at 17
Peck.

Phoebe Danskin is currently a student at Berklee College of Music, where she is doublemajoring
in Music Synthesis and Music Production and Engineering. She has worked on sound
projects with circus performers, other musicians, an animator, and visual artists. Phoebe is a
recent recipient of the Laurie Anderson Women in Music Technology Award.
Daniel Denton is a self taught artist from Portsmouth, RI. Although primarily known for his
stone work, Denton also creates sculpture, furniture, objects and spaces with all of his work
being strongly influenced by his background in architecture. Since 2004 he has focused more
and more on making art and has received and completed a number of commissioned pieces in
homes and gardens in Rhode Island and has shown his work in local galleries. He is currently
exhibiting a piece at the Newport Art Museum.

Shawn Gilheeney is a painter and a printmaker who has recently finished his BFA in Printmaking
Rhode Island College. The intertwining of nature and manmade structures are the base for his
modern abstracted landscapes. His work brings focus to the decaying industrial lands, creating
life where it has been lost, intrigue where there are only remnants through various media. He
showed last year at the Hillel Gallery at Brown, the Silvermine Artist Guild in Ct., the University
of North Dakota, and at Dumbo, NYC.

Lynne Harlow is a reductive artist based in Providence, RI and New York, NY. She makes large
scale site-specific work and small drawings and prints in a language of sensual minimalism. She
holds an M.F.A. from Hunter College in New York. She exhibits her work in the U.S. and
internationally, including recent shows at P.S. 1 and EFA Project Space, both in New York. In
2002 she was a visiting artist at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, TX.

Graham Heffernan is a painter based in Providence, RI. His paintings are structural abstractions
consisting of many layers of paints and translucent mediums. He is a co-founder of the Prolific
Arts Association, a group that supports and promotes emerging artists. Heffernan received his
BFA from Rhode Island College; he is represented by Lenore Gray Gallery.

Jon Laustsen’s sculptures and installations have been selected for group and juried exhibitions
at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis and the 2009 RISD New England Alumni Biennial in
Boston. He’s also received the 2009 Fellowship for 3-D Art from the Rhode Island State Council
on the Arts and held his most recent solo show at 5Traverse Gallery in Providence. Laustsen
received his MFA in sculpture from RISD in 2002 and currently works in Pawtucket, RI.
Multi-media artist Peter Lutz is a recent transplant to Providence via New York City, where he
worked as a prop designer and a resin fabricator. Throughout his work, Peter has employed a
wide range of disciplines and materials but always with a focus on material, light and their
relationship to one another in space. Peter currently works as a freelance carpenter and technician
for several artists in Providence, as well as an instructor at the Steel Yard. Most recently he was
awarded the 2009 RISCA Fellowship for New Genres.

Agata Michalowska was born in 1984 and raised in Warsaw, Poland. Michalowska earned her
BFA in Printmaking from RISD and stayed in Providence as part of the AS220 Community
Printshop where she is a key member, instructor and artist assistant in Intaglio. Focusing on
technique and process, she strives to achieve beautifully crafted prints, objects and installations.
The passage of time, the temporality of human existence and the poetry of the everyday are at
the core of her work.

Jamey Morrill is a Providence-based sculptor who grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Morrill
received his MFA in sculpture in 2002 from Indiana University at Bloomington. He has shown
widely in the mid-west and New England. In recent years his work has become increasingly
experimental, sprawling, and site-specific.

Alison Owen makes site-responsive paintings and installations that alter the environment in
subtly invasive ways. She focuses on the peripheral, using delicate materials and colors to
create installations that reward sustained investigation. Owen received her MFA from Claremont
Graduate University and has exhibited at Bank Gallery, Creative Artists Agency and Kinkead
Contemporary in Los Angeles, Tilt Gallery in Portland, Vox Populi in Philadelphia, and the
Bronx Museum of Art in New York. She will be showing at 5Traverse Gallery in the fall of
2009, and has been invited to participate in the id11 residency in Delft.
In his paintings and drawings, Peter Owen explores the urban landscape, isolating and layering
moments to reinterpret personal experience within public space. He has lived in Los Angeles,
New York, Seattle, and New England, and his work draws from each of these places. A primarily
self-taught artist, Owen has shown at D.E.N. Contemporary and The Creative Artists Agency
in Los Angeles, Brenda Taylor Gallery in New York, F.U.E.L. Gallery in Philadelphia, and The
Fallout Gallery in Las Vegas.

Allison Paschke works primarily with translucent and reflective materials. Her work contains
both a rich materiality and the ephemeral and interactive aspects of light. Allison received an
MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and has had solo and group shows both in Providence
and nationally. She has been both a recipient and juror in the “new genres” category at RISCA.
Working with various materials and methods, Lisa Perez’s art embraces an ambiguity in the
definitions and boundaries of sculpture, drawing and installation. Drawing is the starting point
of all works from pencil, pen, and paint to paper constructions, installation, and architectural
intervention. Her work invites a shift in expectations and engages a recognition of that which
often slips into the margins of perception in our hyperspeed culture. Perez received her MFA
from the University of California at Berkeley and currently lives and works in Providence, RI.
Recent exhibitions of her work were installed at the Drawing Center - NYC, RISD - Woods

Will Reeves is thoroughly fascinated by structure and his work spans a multitude of methods
and mediums. He is amazed at how humanity has built this world, both physically, through
architecture and engineering, and culturally, through governments and ethics. Will recently
graduated from RISD, and since then has been part of the Carta Design Studio. He also founded
The Wurks, a collaborative studio between artists, craftsmen, designers, musicians, performers,
and writers in East Providence. In this exhibition, Will will be collaborating with his colleagues
at Carta (Boris Chan and Stephen Green).

Andrew Sloan is an American-born self-taught visual artist currently living and working in
Providence, RI. His signature street-influenced Pop style with bold colors and black-outlines
incorporates images of daily life with elements of cartoons, fashion, music, graphic design and
architecture. Andrew is currently represented by galleries in Miami, Newport, Provincetown,
Pawtucket and Paris.
